TAE KWON DO AT HFAC
The traditional Korean art of Tae Kwon Do is a fun, full-body workout for students of all ages and abilities! Dedicated to physical and mental health, Tae Kwon Do challenges students to continually grow:
Physically – Increasing strength, balance, flexibility, coordination, agility, and cardiovascular fitness
Mentally – Learning and memorizing new skill sets and knowledge
Spiritually – Developing courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, indomitable spirit, courage, discipline, and determination
Tae Kwon Do offers the social camaraderie of team sports while allowing each student to develop at his or her own pace without the pressures of performing that are often natural side-effects of team sports. For this reason, Tae Kwon Do can benefit students of all skill levels and learning abilities.
Students enrolled in Tae Kwon Do progress by belt levels, allowing for a tangible measurement of progress as well as keeping students engaged and motivated with continually new goals to strive for. Reaching each new level requires practice, discipline, courage, and determination, teaching students the value and reward of hard-work and perseverance.
The Tae Kwon Do classroom is also a place of encouragement, positivity, and fun, where fighting, bullying, and putting down others or oneself is never tolerated.
